As a Datacom PM your role isn’t just to run projects successfully, on time and on budget, but also to enhance our reputation with our customers, to deliver ongoing value, to innovate and lead, and to manage and mentor your delivery team every day.
The PM role is a truly diverse one with the most impact on how our customers view us as a service provider. There is no room for mechanical project management in Datacom.
Your track record consists of delivering projects across a variety of industries and technologies. We’re running a number of the largest IT projects within the country, and if it’s not scale that excites you there are opportunities to run projects across a diverse set of industries and complexities.
You’ve developed your team management, customer engagement and influencing skills through tackling new industry sectors and complex projects, even rescuing some that have gone off the rails. Whether it’s a large-scale integration projects, applications, change management or product configuration; your dedication to understanding your customer intimately means you can put your hand to any project.
As a professional Project Manager you understand the importance of rallying a team around you, of being able to understand and even predict customer challenges, of motivating your delivery team and of representing your organisation. If you know PMBOK or PRINCE2 that’s great, but not the deciding factor.
You’ll have:
• Solid project management experience which you can demonstrate
• Knowledge of project management methodology, software and tools
• Experience in team management/mentoring
• Strong technical background
• Experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
• Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects which meet quality and benefit targets
You operate collegially and transparently and you communicate frequently with both your team and your customers. You like to be part of the engine room and know intimately your teams’ involvement in all aspects of the project. You enjoy motivating your team, celebrating success and being accountable for delivery and day-to-day functioning of your project team.
