At Datacom, we can help you prepare for the worst. Our IT Services Continuity Management (ITSCM) team is concerned with ensuring your business can continue to provide an agreed level of IT Services following an interruption to, or loss of, key business IT processes. The IT services that continue to run in a disaster situation, which could be anything from an application or system failure to a complete loss of the business premises or datacentres, should support minimum business requirements.
ITSCM strategy fits under, and is a major component of, Business Continuity Management (BCM).
ITSCM within Datacom is based on the ITIL Best Practice framework which includes process roles and functions supporting the development and maintenance of services for continuity preparedness of IT services.
Datacom provides ITSCM services as part of a wider services package. The process that Datacom follows is aligned to the following industry standards and best practice guidelines:
- ITIL Version 3 - 2011Edition
- COBIT Version 5
- ISO 3100:2009 Risk Management - Principles and Guidelines
- ISO 20000 for IT Service Management
The ITSCM process includes:
- The agreement of the scope of the ITSCM process and your BCM policies
- Business impact analysis to quantify the impact loss of IT service would have on your business
- Risk identification and risk assessment to identify potential threats to continuity and the likelihood of the threats becoming reality
- Production of an overall ITSCM strategy within your business that must be integrated into your BCM strategy
- Production of an ITSCM plan, which must be integrated with the overall BCM plans
- Ongoing testing of your disaster recovery plans
- Ongoing operation and maintenance of the disaster recovery plans
