This will be our fourth intake into our Wellington business for this specific programme. It’s a highly successful and sought after programme; with expressions of interest growing with each year. Our previous recruits have gone on to be fully immersed in IT, service and process roles across our business. It will be a defining moment in a career with endless opportunities.
Our Wellington business has over 1300 staff, operating across the full spectrum of IT services, and we continue to grow. The graduate programme is a key component of our ongoing success, and is designed to give you exposure and experience in a number of areas crucial to our IT outsourcing services business. Our graduates are introduced to the commercial world in a safe and supportive environment, where you can trust your mentors and team members to “show you the ropes” as you rotate across various business units.
This programme is designed to allow you coverage across a selection of roles as listed below. It offers you four rotations across the two years, allowing you to explore various career options (both technical and non-technical). One great aspect about being a graduate at Datacom is that you will have real hands-on experience, right from the moment you start.
We are also keen to hear from those interested in software related careers (noting criteria as below), that may fall outside of this specific programme.
During the programme, you will rotate across a selection of roles as below:
- End User Support and Desktop Support
- Project Administration and Co-ordination
- Service Delivery Co-ordination
- Systems and Database Administration (Networks, Wintel, Unix, Cloud)
- Security Operations/Network Administration
- Process Management (ITIL related process management)

To be eligible for consideration we are looking for:
- A Tertiary qualification at a degree level from an accredited New Zealand education provider
- Passion for IT and service
- Commitment to ongoing study and personal / professional development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A “can-do attitude” with plenty of enthusiasm
- Ambition and drive
- The required visa to allow you to legally work in New Zealand
