Application packaging and deployment is time-consuming. It involves gathering configuration requirements, categorising software and conducting quality assurance. Done incorrectly, the applications will need to be repackaged, delaying time to deployment and crippling user productivity. To help ensure an efficient and effective process, Datacom has developed RACE to Application Management, a set of standard processes for packaging everything from simple applications to complex ones in the configuration your organisation requires.
To standardise application deployment across your organisation, RACE to Application Management follows these steps:
- Gathers application configuration information with the help of our business analysts
- Provides an MSI installer package file format in a standard configuration that aligns with your application needs. File configurations include .EXE to MSI, .EXE to Virtual Applications (Microsoft, Citrix and VMware formats) and MSI to Virtual Applications
- Deploys the file repeatedly the same way across the organisation to avoid faulty installations; your business can deploy the file itself or Datacom can do it for you
- Conducts quality assurance testing including performing a test install and uninstall of each application.
