Role Overview and Objectives
The Licensing Compliance Lead – ANZ role is to be responsible for ensuring the licensing compliance of Datacom’s own hosted datacentres across the group as well as any hosting licensing compliance using these programs through third party clouds. The role will begin with the Microsoft compliance processes and reviews and extend out to other vendors over the first year.
The core objectives and responsibilities of the Licensing Compliance Lead - ANZ include:
Initiating actions
1. Reviewing and documenting all locations current process.
2. Work with locations to deliver best practice.
3. Creating a global mobility register and working with local entities on creating a renewal process for mobility
4. Developing collateral and process to highlight Mobility and Access requirements to the client.
5. Engage with key stake holders across ITO and DCS
Ongoing responsibility
1. Complete a monthly random regional compliance review.
2. Deliver mobility review and requirements with each local entity
3. Work with clients and legal where necessary in obtaining install information for reviews.
4. Improve compliance across multiple vendors.
Role Responsibilities
The Licensing Compliance Lead – ANZ is responsible for:
1. Strategic Planning and Implementation of a core common process for reporting to vendors
- In consultation with key stake holders and regional experts review and develop a consistent process for reporting and compliance verification.
- Create future objectives based on needs, be that vendor or process improvement.
2. Create a community across the group
- Refine the key stake holders and regional experts.
- Develop regular communication and sharing of information around the vendor programs.
3. Licensing Expertise
- Present a strong understanding of the Microsoft SPLA program with a goal to achieving Datacom expert status in SPLA within 12 months.
- Build personal licensing expertise across the top 10 ANZ MSP vendors licensing programs.
4. Escalation Management
- Collaborate with internal state key stakeholders, understand requirements and ensure we service to their satisfaction, where practical.
- Work closely with key vendors to ensure compliance recognition and no gap audits.
- Support vendor software negotiations and monitor performance to ensure that they are cost effective, maximise rebates/incentives and support business needs. This includes vendor contracts.
- Central contact for Managed Service Provider Software vendor licensing and operational queries
- Escalation Management for software issues prior to escalation to Divisional Manager and key stake holders
The Licensing Compliance Lead - ANZ will build relationships with varied groups including: Divisional Manager, Key Stake holders across the ANZ, Regional Experts in Hosting, MSP vendor licensing/reporting, State GM’s (Sales/Technical) and Software Vendors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Work Experience
Essential
- Microsoft SPLA licensing program
- Business process documentation
- Stakeholder management at all levels
- Coaching and mentoring
- Minimum 1 year experience completing Compliance reviews/ audit
- Previous experience working in a licensing role.
Desirable
- VMware, Veritas, IBM, Oracle (Possible hardware compliance requirements)
- Project Management
- Experience working with a Managed Service Provider
- Experience with Tier 1 vendors (Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Veritas, IBM & Google)
Qualifications and Certifications
- Hold and maintain the current Microsoft Certified Professional exams.
- Tertiary qualification in IT, business or related field and/or equivalent skills and experience (Desirable)
