The Tempo product supports the following areas of transport and logistics businesses:
- Less than Truck Load (LTL) freight consignments such as cars, furniture, general freight items. These larger items or “uglies” are often not barcoded and are hard to load efficiently. Being able to manage scheduling and record delays, extra freight and/or services, is critical to reduce revenue leakage.
- Hub and Spoke Courier parcel and freight up to 25KG where most or all deliveries and collections are to or from a depot or hub. Drivers need to be able to deliver quickly and get it right the first time with a constant and rapid work flow, even during non-peak periods.
- Point to Point Courier urgent time-specific deliveries. The more traditional courier who is moving from point to point all day doing pick-ups and deliveries. The biggest challenge here is to meet service levels with the minimum of staff. The ability to do group pick-ups and deliveries is vital.
- Click and collect is the up and coming segment in the transport and logistics space. This capability allows the tracking of items to a customer even when delivered via a remote agent like a local retail store.
- In depot or under the roof tracking of freight and containers deals with the movement of freight within depots and hubs including re-sorting to local runs or transferred to line haul units. This often means consigning freight to other containers or cages for transport. Visibility of items at a container level is vital so other locations can be informed of all inbound traffic or delays
