They test products and services, recommend which ones they think are best, investigate issues relevant to consumers, provide advice on rights, educate consumers and campaign to get laws/regulations changed to benefit consumers.
The challenge
With a basic, and not very well supported, existing payroll system, Consumer NZ knew they needed something better. They wanted a system that was cloud-based to shift them away from paper-based forms and help maintain efficiency, with business continuity a key driver should their Wellington office become unavailable.
The solution
Consumer NZ chose Datacom’s DataPay, an in-house payroll solution, as the answer. Currently using Datacom for their IT support services, a strong working relationship already existed. After being shown an initial demonstration, including on both the system and the MyPay app, and speaking personally with the team about implementation costs, Consumer NZ had the confidence to choose Datacom’s payroll system.
Although Datacom is based in Auckland, onsite visits to Consumer NZ’s Wellington office, along with being available via phone and email every step of the way, ensured a smooth transition.
The new MyPay app has helped staff view their payroll information and leave balances, as well as allow them to apply for leave, right at their fingertips.
“Datacom’s in-house payroll solution, DataPay, fits our needs perfectly. The Datacom team was organised and had everything set up and operating, ensuring all staff could be paid accurately and on time. We were extremely happy with the implementation process. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Datacom.”
