KUB Malaysia Berhad and Datacom Systems (Asia) Sdn Bhd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to offer a wider range of IT infrastructure and management services to the Malaysian market.

The MoU which was signed by Dato’ Wan Mohd Nor Wan Ahmad, Group Managing Director of KUB Malaysia Berhad and Andrew Goodwin, Executive Director of Datacom Systems, will see both parties combine their expertise and resources to cross leverage each other’s complementary business and service delivery capabilities in the IT industry.

“We are very excited to be working with the Australasian-owned entity as this strategic partnership will help to enhance the Group’s Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) sector. We will leverage on Datacom’s expertise to complement and expand our existing business as well as maximise the opportunities in the continuing development of ICT industry in the country,” said Wan Mohd Nor at the signing ceremony today.

“Both parties will work together to deliver convenience and flexible cloud solutions and data centre services as well as other ICT infrastructure to existing and new potential clients, specifically in the government sectors with the objective to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and enhance customer experience,” he added.

Commenting on the strategic alliance, Andrew Goodwin, Executive Director of Datacom Systems (Asia) Sdn Bhd said, “KUB’s reach and relationships combined with Datacom’s near 50 year track record delivering to both the public and private sectors will make a formidable partnership.  We looking forward to this next evolution in our growth in Malaysia."

Also present to witness the signing ceremony were Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Jailani Johari, alongside KUB’s Chairman, Datuk Seri Abd Halim Abd Samad and Datacom’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Ladd.With this combination, both companies believe that this alliance will provide benefit in terms of knowledge transfer and a platform to further strengthen both parties capability as KUB and Datacom Asia will be participating in government related projects outlined in the Economic Transformation Plan (ETP).
