Datacom has been selected to manage and deliver the SCAMwatch contact centre on behalf of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). Under a two year contract, Datacom from December 2012, will offer personalised assistance by phone to individuals that wish to discuss and report an issue or concern in relation to any scam or potential scam.
SCAMwatch provides information to consumers and small businesses about how to recognise, avoid and report scams. The ACCC publishes this website to help consumers recognise and prevent scams.
Kirsty Hunter, Managing Director Datacom has said, “We are thrilled to be working with the ACCC who play an integral role in the regulation of fair market trade. We are focused on putting in place services that deliver tangible policy outcomes for the ACCC that assist them in their plight to reduce the impact of scammers on the community.”
Datacom has nearly five decades of experience in the public sector across Australia and New Zealand and provides a full suite of services including contact centre, data centres, cloud and system integration to numerous government departments and agencies. Most recently Datacom was hand-picked in August 2012 to join the federal ICT panel to supply application development, system integration, project management and managed services.
