Datacom, one of Australasia’s largest independent business technology solutions providers, today announced that it has acquired the IP and selected assets of Western Australia based education provider the XciteLogic group.
Datacom has offices in every mainland state of Australia and the acquisition strengthens the company’s strategic position in the Western Australian market with the addition of Xcite’s integrated ICT solutions for government, corporate and education sectors. Beyond W.A., Datacom also intends to expand on XciteLogic’s existing presence in Victoria and New South Wales.
Basil Lenzo, Managing Director, Datacom Systems W.A. said, “Datacom is delighted to announce that it has acquired the intellectual property and selected assets of the Xcite Group in order to grow the business within the education and other sectors. This will complement Datacom’s existing business in WA and beyond, allowing us to take to the Education market, value-added services and infrastructure solutions as well as intellectual property assets.”
Datacom will absorb all the Xcite group’s existing business and services and provide a seamless transition for clients, suppliers and partners. Datacom can also confirm that 25 key Xcite employees will be offered roles and supported to bring their specialist domain knowledge to the local business.
“This investment is part of Datacom’s strategy to continue developing intellectual property assets and capability to provide differentiation for our clients in their activities and to further grow and position the company as a leader in the ANZ region”, said Peter Wilson, CEO Datacom Systems Australia.
The acquisition further strengthens Datacom’s presence in Western Australia after the company recently opened offices in the Pilbara to service the resources sector.
