Datacom’s local government business continues to grow with Wattle Range Council adopting Datascape, an innovative cloud-based system aimed at delivering better council services to 12,000 residents in the region.
Datacom is expanding its Western Australian operations with the opening of a new office in Perth’s St Georges Terrace.
Datacom’s Data Centre team won the DCD Asia Pacific region Data Centre Operations Team of the Year Award for successfully delivering four simultaneous large-scale build and upgrade projects, while ensuring 100% uptime and no customer disruption. The award ceremony took place in Singapore.
Datacom Group today reported Financial Year Results to 31 March 2019 (FY19). Datacom delivered another year of growth, with total operating revenue of $1.29 billion, an improvement of 17% over the previous financial year, and profit after tax of $42.02 million. The lift in profit is attributed to Australia’s improving performance.
The New Zealand Customs Service has successfully migrated its CusMod border management system onto Datacom’s new Govt.Container service. Govt.Container is a brand new cloud service from Datacom that enables sizeable existing heritage applications to be evolved and updated more quickly and cost-effectively
Datacom has officially opened its new office in Tauranga, bringing together over 80 staff from two smaller offices in Tauranga and Mt Maunganui into a much larger space. The new office can accommodate 40 additional people leaving room for significant growth. Datacom has a long standing presence in the regions, and this expansion is a demonstration of the company’s ongoing commitment to support regional economic development through job creation and business growth.
Porirua City Council is the first New Zealand council to go live with Datacom’s new smart council and community cloud based solution, Datascape. The council was looking for a digital and mobile solution that would put customers and the community right at the heart of its organisation and Datascape was chosen as the best match for such a need.
Datacom today announced it has received the 2019 Dell Technologies Global Alliances Technical Excellence Partner of the Year Award. This global award recognises Datacom’s technical excellence in achieving great results for customers while leveraging Dell Technologies.
Datacom has relaunched its Gloucester data centre in Christchurch to mark the completion of a $52 million expansion and upgrade of its four New Zealand data centres. The Gloucester expansion cost $9.7 million and has more than doubled the server rack space, as well as significantly upgrading infrastructure and resiliency
Datacom today launched Hybrid Cloud services into North Queensland using Microsoft’s Azure Stack, and underpinned by Dell EMC’s VxRail Azure Stack. The services, to be delivered out of the new North Queensland Regional Data Centre (NQRDC), will provide customers in the region with faster and more efficient internet and data services.
