MyPD Projects are professional development workshops designed to help primary and secondary teachers implement technology in the classroom. These programs are designed by a team of Professional Learning Consultants and Technical experts to ensure the technology training is appropriate and aligned with the learning outcomes that are delivered in class. They are facilitated by Professional Learning Consultants who use their experience as qualified teachers to provide best practice advice on supporting student-focused focused environments.
The two MyPD Projects we offer are MyPD Establish and MyPD Transform:
- MyPD Establish is an 8-week project for up to 24 teachers. It is suitable for those who are beginning to incorporate technology in the classroom. Participants meet for one hour each fortnight to learn the teaching strategy behind implementing a particular technology in the classroom, and trial it between sessions. Benefits include access to an online learning environment to track progress, and a classroom-facilitated environment where participants can share their learning experiences.
- MyPD Transform is an intensive 6-week project for smaller groups of 8 teachers. It is suitable for those who are already familiar with online tools and other digital ways of learning. Participants also meet for an hour each fortnight and learn how to implement a particular technology in the classroom. These hands-on sessions ensure teachers are given individual attention while learning through in-class demos, side-by-side coaching sessions and critical friend lessons. Teachers have the ability to trial technology in these sessions with individual coaching from Professional Learning Consultants and the ongoing support of other teachers.
