Datacom QLD is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join and hold some leadership and guidance in our network team. You will be working as part of the Managed Services division and as the successful candidate, you will provide professional technical leadership services to meet our customer's requirements.
The Role:
Reporting to the Managed Service Team Leader, the Network Engineer's key duties and responsibilities are:
• Pro-actively manage network device resources and to ensure that they are available as per SLA
• Perform upgrades on networking hardware and operating system
• Prepare and implement network device updates
• Provide network device support to meet customer demands for the resolution of incidents, problems and change service requests as well as business improvement initiatives
• Maintain technical documentation
• Providing technical leadership, focus and mentoring for network department
• Provide solution and project advice when required
• Willingness to take ownership of issues and seek resolutions
The Candidate:
Ideally, you will possess the following skills and experience to assist you in performing this role:
• Around 5 years' experience in network IT Service Role
• Around 3 years' in a senior engineering role
• Current Cisco Professional Certification - CCNP
• Strong experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst L2/L3 Switches, ASA Firewalls
• Able to work in a dynamic IT outsourcing environment
• Some knowledge of HP networking
• Strong working knowledge of common network protocols
• Strong working troubleshooting skills in network field
• Exposure to WAN technologies
• Experience in ITIL best practices highly regarded
• Excellent teamwork skills
