As Datacom Systems continues to grow as one of the leading providers of IT solutions in the ACT and across Australia and New Zealand, we are seeking a Network Engineer to join us on one of our largest government accounts, working in the Networks Team in our Braddon office. .
The Role

An integral part of the overall service delivery function and reporting to the Networks Team Lead, the Networks Engineer function is critical in supporting the core services we offer our client including maintenance, development and upgrades.
Datacom Network Engineers provide exceptional levels of service and assistance to rectify and resolve issues as they are reported. This support is provided via phone and email, remote access, and most importantly by face to face and direct contact.
The core objectives and responsibilities of the Network Engineer include:
- Support customer network environment/s
- Establish and nurture relationships with appropriate staff both within Datacom and our clients
- Provide guidance and technical leadership to more junior staff
- Perform reporting duties
- Perform 24x7 On Call duties on a roster basis

The Person
The nature of this role will suit a person who works with a sense of urgency and has a proactive work ethic.
You will need to be a strong team player and an open and effective communicator with the ability to work autonomously and contribute to overall team outcomes. You are comfortable dealing with people from all walks of life and at all levels. Strong communication skills are essential for success.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for someone who is qualified through study and experience.
In order to be successful in this role you need to have a broad and comprehensive knowledge of Network Infrastructure, demonstrated understanding and implementation of Network Infrastructure and a qualification such as CCNP or equivalent as a minimum.
You must have previous experience with F5 Load balancers and a minimum 3 years' experience working in a Network Engineering role within ITIL frameworks, preferably in a managed services/outsourcing relationship.
