Lead Architect

Our teams are seen as the technology leaders and innovators in the Datacom business and we are continuing to grow.  This role will see you providing vision, leadership, solution design and architectural governance across a broad spectrum of technology arenas.

You will work in a well-respected and established team of talented and multi-skilled architects, so there is plenty of opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge, given the diverse pipeline of work ahead.         

As a senior member of our team, you will share our common language and contribute to the development of our architecture patterns, while providing architecture services to our diverse client base.   This role is not just about your technical capability; it’s about how you can influence, encourage and support our clients to make informed decisions about how technology can best support the business. 

This is a multifaceted role which will focus on the below:

  • Provide architectural leadership to delivery teams
  • Provide architectural governance to multiple work streams and project teams
  • Collaborate with and influence clients to develop their digital roadmap and/or deliver their digital strategy
  • Act as an inspirational and pro-active leader on projects
  • Be a technical leader by ensuring technology supports business functionality
  • Provide architectural assurance for proposed changes to customer environments
  • Provide project assurance functions with respect to architecture for projects
  • Oversee Projects to BAU transition process and governance
  • Involved in architecture of solutions that are presented to the customer
  • Involved in pre-sales activities and assisting with Bids
  • Engage multiple stakeholders to build a good working relationship, maximise communication and minimise architectural issues
  • Maintain relationships at an architectural level with the customer and within Datacom
  • Audit of applied standards to ensure compliance by Datacom account teams

As such we require a mix of consulting, client and technical skills, including:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in an Architect role
  • Previous management of architectural teams
  • Strategic thinker who is used to working with conceptual designs and experienced with proposals/bids
  • Pragmatic and dynamic thinker who will challenge traditional thinking with innovative solutions
  • Good business acumen required to ensure the business requirements and drivers are well understood before any technology is considered. 
  • A depth and breadth of specialist technology knowledge, with a focus on .NET platforms and integration
  • An ability to identify or create Architectural patterns for optimum re-use
  • Previous experience in a similar role creating and contributing to the architectural repository and defining standards and patterns e.g. TOGAF
  • Excellent written skills including proposals, conceptual designs and high-level designs
  • The interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients whilst displaying resilience
  • Ability to work across organisations of all sizes and in varying industry sectors
  • Excellent planning and well organised
