The Cloud Services Engineer is responsible for the ongoing technical operation of the various DCS shared cloud platforms. They are a member of the DCS Operations team and they work with a team of Cloud Shared Services engineers and architects to proactively manage the DCS Shared Services.
The Cloud Services Engineer is a hands-on professional technical engineer with responsibilities across a broad range of technologies. They maintain a deep knowledge of the technologies deployed as well as up to date professional certifications to ensure the delivery of an exceptional service. They are passionate about technology with an innovative approach to solving complex problems. They are customer service focussed and are constantly seeking ways to optimise and automate processes to improve quality and reduce cost.
About you:
You will need to be:
- Cross skilled and able to support a Cloud Shared Services stack comprising of
- Automation/Orchestration, Hypervisor, Server, Backups, Storage, Network & Application layers. Key focus on *b * Automation/Orchestration, hypervisor and backups.
- Deep understanding of virtualised environments running on VMWare, Hyper-V or other hypervisors
- Knowledge of the VMWare suite of virtualization products
- Knowledge of enterprise backup management systems such as Netbackup (Preferred), Veeam
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes, change management and project management
- Exposure to DR methodologies, planning and execution

Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an Engineer in a mid-size corporate environment
- 3 years+ Windows Sever/Unix/Linux experience, including at least 1 year in an Enterprise level
- Administrator role performing daily server / storage / backup / virtulisation maintenance tasks
- Checks Experience operating a highly available platform with rigorous availability and planned
- Downtime targets Extensive experience in supporting Enterprise VMWare, Storage, Windows Server, and * Network environments
- Experience working in an ITIL aligned environment
